The artisan has used the coiled technique to create these cover plates. The designs on them recall those found on textiles. This well made plate mat comes probably from the Fulani. The Fulani are a nomadic people found in several countries including Burkina Faso, Mali, Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon, and Chad. This mat would have been made
